Museo della Città "Luigi Tonini" - Rimini


An ancient heart beats within the walls of Rimini. The town’s history is told not only by its ancient monuments, but also by the Museum housed in the 18th century former Jesuit college.

The Archaeological Section displays human progress from prehistory to late antiquity.
The itinerary in the Medieval and Modern Sections evidences the town’s cultural vitality in the first half of the 14th century by the original works from the Rimini School.

From the 15th century famous artists (Giovanni Bellini and Domenico Ghirlandaio) came to work for the Malatesta lords Visitors to the second floor will experience the meeting between 17th century local art and that of the most active Italian centres. Creativity, art and design from the 20th century can be appreciated on the ground floor area showing the graphic work of René Gruau end in the room displaying the Libro dei Sogni of Federico Fellini.
